CDD refresh failures that stall bank partners
Onboarding files can look strong while periodic refresh quietly expires. Partners notice when high-risk customers keep transacting on stale evidence.
Many fintech KYC programs invest heavily in day-one onboarding and underinvest in refresh. Banking partners increasingly ask for evidence that risk-tiered refresh actually completes—especially for PEPs, complex ownership, and higher-risk corridors.
Audit file samples across tiers and look for expired identity documents, missing beneficial ownership updates, and EDD that was never triggered after a risk score change. System flags that analysts ignore are operating failures, not configuration footnotes.
Document the bridge between screening hits and CDD updates. A sanctions possible match that never returns to the customer file creates a silent gap partners will probe.
Fix ownership before tooling. If nobody owns refresh queues, a new vendor workflow will still age out.
